Synopsis

Eric (Steve Evets) is a postman fast heading towards rock-bottom. His wife has walked out, his two step-sons have no respect for him and one of them is hiding a gun for a local gangster. Who can help Eric out of this malaise? None other than Eric’s footballing hero, Eric Cantona (himself). But can the famous French philosopher really turn Eric’s life around and save the day?

Perhaps Ken Loach’s most accessible and light hearted film to date, ‘Looking For Eric’ is a comedy with a soft centre and a hard edge. Nominated for the Palm d’Or at Cannes in 2009, this is not, despite its Gallic star, a film about football. It is a film about feeling lost and finding yourself with the help of your friends. Even the imaginary ones.
